In 2018, Bradley Cooper directed the third remake of ‘A Star Is Born,’ starring himself and Lady Gaga. Talks of this third remake began back in 2011, with Clint Eastwood linked to the directing role. However, Bradley officially signed on in 2016. The movie premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in August 2018 and was highly critically acclaimed. ‘A Star Is Born’ received eight nominations at the 2019 Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt and Anthony Rossomando won the Best Original Song honor at the show for writing the movie’s hit, “Shallow.” The track also won two Grammy Awards for Best Song Written for Visual Media and Best Pop/Duo Performance. In the movie, Bradley plays Jackson Maine, a country singer who battles with drug addiction and falls in love with aspiring singer/songwriter Ally, played by Lady Gaga. The film follows their love story as she rises to fame and he struggles with his addictions.
