Coronavirus, or COVID-19, has hit everything from travel, to sports gatherings, work environments and schools. Now, it’s effects are being felt right in Hollywood. A number of fan favorite TV shows are halting their production, while some of 2020’s most anticipated films have made the decision to postpone premiere dates. From viewership to boxoffice, Coronavirus is affecting a number of the professionals in the entertainment industry. Here, we run down some of those very productions that are being hit hard. ‘Riverdale,’ for example, was in the process of shooting season four in Vancouver, Canada, when it was reported that one of the crew members came in contact with someone who had tested positive for the virus. As a result, the production company, Warner Bros., decided to completely halt production on the series fourth installment. ‘Fast & Furious 9’
‘Fast & Furious 9’ has been pushed all the way to 2021. The film’s global boxoffice would undoubtedly be affected by the Coronavirus.
‘Survivor’
CBS’s Survivor also had to adjust due to the Coronavirus. The 41st season was meant to start filming at the end of March but will halt.

“A Quiet Place Part II’
‘A Quiet Place Part II’ was also pushed back. John Krasinski, one of the film’s stars and the screenwriter for the film, did not specify a release date in his tweet.
‘No Time To Die’
‘No Time To Die’ was pushed back to late 2020 instead of its original release date. Daniel Craig’s final showing as James Bond has been pushed until November 2020 instead of it’s March 4 release date.
‘Peter Rabbit 2’
‘Peter Rabbit 2’ has been delayed. The late March/ early April release date for the sequel of the James Corden-led film has been pushed to August worldwide.
‘The Morning Show’
‘The Morning Show’ went on a two-week hiatus for production of its second season on March 12. The award-winning series stars Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston.
‘Black Widow’
‘Black Widow’ has been pushed back from its May 1 release in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. A new release date has not been announced yet.
‘Mulan’
The live-action ‘Mulan’ was supposed to be released on March 27. Disney has postponed its release until further notice.
Friends
The long awaited reunion between the six original cast members is on hold. Our sister site Variety reports on March 18 that it has “confirmed with sources that filming of the special has been delayed. It was due to film within the next week but it has now been pushed to May at the earliest.” The reunion special was set to air in May with the debut HBO Max, where all 10 seasons of Friends will now be found.
Top Gun: Maverick
Tom Cruise plays Capt. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell in ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ which was set for release in July 2019. The film — which marks Tom’s first time reprising the role since the 1986 original — has been pushed back to June 2020, Paramount Pictures confirms.
