Angelique Kerber
Angelique Kerber is a German professional tennis player, and quite a successful player at that!
According to WTA Rankings, she is a former world No. 1 and the winner of three Grand Slam tournaments! The Grand Slam is where she started to make a name for herself in the sport in 2003, and has only gotten even bigger and better since.
She gained even more fans when she made it to the semifinals of the 2011 US Open. She had been ranked pretty low at the beginning of the competition (as the No. 92-ranked player in the world), but soon enough she ascended to the top and remarkably procured the number-one ranking for the first time ever. She also happened to be the oldest player to ever do this.
