Caelynn Miller-Keyes fell hard for Dean Unglert during season 5 of ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ in 2018. He left the show and broke up with her, but wound up returning before filming ended and they left as a couple. Although their relationship is somewhat untraditional, they’ve been together ever since their time in Paradise.
After three years of traveling the world together and spoiling their adorable dog, the pair confirmed their plans to spend the rest of their lives together by getting engaged! On the Oct. 23, 2022 episode of his ‘Help! I Suck At Dating’ podcast, Dean revealed that he bought Caelynn a stunning 4.5 carat emerald-cut engagement ring, but lost it. ‘It’s not quite as nice as the first one was,’ Dean admitted about the second ring he had to buy. He then shared his lesson learned: to not ‘put your engagement rings in the junk drawer.’
The engagement went down on the beach on Oct. 24, and Dean had beautiful images of the special moment captured, to no surprise. ‘under promise. over deliver,’ he wrote alongside the photos, which can be seen here. His caption likely poked at the fact that he never seemed to excited about the prospect of walking down the aisle. ‘I’ve made it pretty clear to her. I was like, ‘If you really want to get married, you should be the one proposing to me’ so I think she’s got something in the works for that which I think is pretty cool,’ he noted on his podcast in Nov. 2021.
He also seemed fairly disgusted at the idea of marriage in a June 2022 episode of this podcast. ‘Caelynn makes significantly more money than I do and here I am having to spend all this money on something I don’t even want. Like, I want her to get what she wants, but she’s the one who wants to get married,’ he said.
Hopefully, that was all a cover so she could be extra surprised when the day came. By the look of the photo, she certainly was!
