Benedict Cumberbatch is an English actor. He got his start in acting by being a part of the theatre. His first ever performance was at Open Air Theatre in Regent’s Park.
Cumberbatch has also made a mark on TV as well. Other roles he is best known for include Sherlock Holmes in the series ‘Sherlock’ (2010), William Pitt the Younger in ‘Amazing Grace’ (2006), . In film, Cumberbatch has starred in) as William Pitt the Younger, Khan in ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ (2013), William Prince Ford in ‘12 Years a Slave’ (2013), and Julian Assange in ‘The Fifth Estate’ (2013).
When he is not too busy working as an actor, he runs a production company with Adam Ackland, Patrick Monroe, Ben Dillon, and Adam Selves. Together, they worked on their first project, ‘Little Favour.’
And when he is not too busy acting and producing, he is helping out with different charities, as an ambassador for The Prince’s Trust and an ambassador for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
