Carey Mulligan, born May 28, 1985, is a British Oscar-nominated actress. Carey’s career began when she appeared in the 2005 film adaptation of ‘Pride and Prejudice’ as Kitty Bennet. She had a few small roles in productions like ‘Bleak House,’ ‘Doctor Who,’ and ‘The Amazing Mrs. Pritchard,’ before reaching international acclaim in the 2009 film ‘An Education.’
Carey received her first Oscar nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for her work. She went on to star in films like ‘Never Let Me Go,’ ‘Drive,’ ‘Shame,’ and ‘The Great Gatsby.’ Along with her aforementioned films, Carey has continued to earn rave reviews for her performances in projects like ‘Mudbound’ and ‘Promising Young Woman,’ along with her work on the stage.
