We all know and love Cody Simpson as a musician, but as he begins to dabble in acting, The Australian heartthrob revealed to HollywoodLife.com that one special person inspired him to get started. Here's how Heath Ledger changed Cody's life.
HollywoodLife.com caught up with Cody Simpson, 20, at the 2017 Australians In Film Heath Ledger Scholarship Dinner on June 1 at the Sunset Marquis Hotel in Los Angeles, and he shared how the late Heath Ledger inspired him. “I’m very happy to come [here], especially being a lifelong fan of Heath and his work. It is just a great cause and it is amazing to support fellow countrymen that are in the industry,” Cody told us. “I’ve been a massive fan of his as he has been one of my favorite and most inspirational figures in film for me. He inspired me to sort of want to try my hands in that area.” So cool!
Cody has gotten his feet wet with roles on shows like Cougar Town and I Get That a Lot, and he explained that diving into a field besides music has been nothing but exciting for him. “I’ve started to make my way into the world and it’s really interesting and different than music,” he said. “I didn’t expect how different and radical that it was. But it is very cool. I would like to see where it heads for me,” Cody added, “But music will be my main passion, obviously.” This guy does it all!
