Criss Angel Honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
Criss Angel is honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame outside the Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles on July 20, 2017. He is one of Las Vegas’ most prominent magicians and performing acts. He was born Christopher Nicholas Sarantakos in Hempstead, NY and developed a love of magic by the time he was seven. He performed his first magic show at the age of 12 for just $10. He kept honing his craft doing shows throughout his high school years and upon graduation from Long Island’s East Meadow High School decided to forgo college for a career as a professional magician.He made numerous TV appearances throughought the 1990s and got his own A&E TV series ‘Mindfreak’ in 2005, which ran through 2010. He opened his first Las Vegas show ‘Criss Angele Believe’ on September 26, 2008 and it went on to become the best selling magic show in the world. In 2015 he announced that his nearly two-year-old son by then-GF Shaunlyn Benson, Johnny Crisstopher was battling leukemia. Fortunately the treatment was successful and the boy went into remission but the disease returned in December of 2019 and Johnny began chemotherapy treament.

The new exam room has been sponsored by his charity Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, which Criss started after Johnny was diagnosed with childhood leukemia.
