Cynthia Erivo is an award-winning actress and singer who first gained fame on Broadway. In 2016, Cynthia starred as Celie in the musical adaptation of ‘The Color Purple’, which won her a Tony Award for Lead Actress in a Musical, a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, and a Daytime Emmy Award. The following year, Cynthia recorded a cover of the Beach Boys song ‘God Only Knows’ with John Legend. Cynthia and John performed the song at the 2017 Grammy Awards, during the in memoriam segment to honor those stars lost the previous year. Her star power continued to rise, as she switched to film, with roles in ‘Widows’ opposite Viola Davis, and ‘Bad Times at the El Royale’ with Chris Hemsworth and Dakota Johnson.
