Dana Vaughns — Pics
The living example of a triple threat, Dana Vaughns can do it all – and more. Involved in the entertainment industry from a young age, Dana developed a reputation for being one of the best youth dancers around. That skill on the dance floor would earn him repute and respect, ultimately landing him gigs dacing during Kanye West’s Coachella Sunday Service performance as well as Cardi B and Offset’s 2019 BET Awards performance. His talent extends beyond his feet. In 2019, Dana released his debut EP, Familiar Strangers, mixing ‘90s R&B with a modern take. The collection – with songs like ‘Sweet Tea,’ ‘Rough Rider,’ and ‘Cupid’ – addressed all stages of a relationship. So, he can sing, and he can dance. Can he act? HE CAN. Dana has appeared in a variety of projects, most notably ‘American Soul’ on BET and in Mindy Kaling’s upcoming Netflix project.
Dana Vaughns Talks Influences
‘The Trilogy album by The Weeknd before he popped off. That, honestly, like I say, not that I took the most inspiration from, but I remember being… I was probably just turning 13 or 14 before he really popped off, on some underground scene stuff. I probably shouldn’t even have been listening to all the music, the content he was talking about and stuff. I have vivid memories, beyond me just listening to it for the enjoyment, I was studying it.”
Dana Vaughns Praises Frank
That Orange album by Frank Ocean, I think, was the one for me. He’s still one of my favorite writers. I’ve actually had my mom call me and thought I was on the radio one time because I’ve heard that I sound like Frank Ocean a little bit sometimes. But his pen is incredible. His metaphors and just the way he does that is something that I aspire to do. Yeah, I would put that one on my wall.”

“I think that’s why I flourished in acting in the last year, get American Soul, and then to get this Mindy Kaling thing and also just the roles and auditions that are being sent my way now, pretty substantial. Yeah, I’m excited to see where acting takes me.
Dana Vaughns Looks Into The Future
“I just love with my craft, I love God. And based off that, I think I’m going to be straight, really. I’m just going to really not ask for permission. Even if it’s got to be me by myself doing it, I’m going to do it.”
