‘Dummy’
‘Dummy’ is a Quibi series that premiered in April 2020. The show stars Anna Kendrick as Cody, an aspiring writer who befriends her boyfriend’s sex doll and the two take on the world together. ‘Dummy’ was created by Cody Heller. The show was inspired by Cody’s life with her fiance, Dan Harmon. The show also stars Meredith Hagner and Donal Logue. Cody was inspired to write the show after discovering that Dan had a sex doll. ‘It became clear to me that I have to write about this intensely strange feeling of being jealous of an inanimate object, whereas a man I think can easily objectify an object,’ Cody told HL. When Cody met with Anna to discuss the project, there was an ‘instant love connection’ between the two. In addition to starring in the show, Anna also serves as an executive producer.
