‘DWTS’ Season 1
‘Dancing With the Stars’ became a global phenomenon when it premiered in 2005 on ABC. The ‘DWTS’ ballroom is truly an incredible place to be. Our favorite celebrities team up with a professional dancer and learn dances every week to perform for judges and the world. The very first winner of ‘DWTS’ was ‘General Hospital’ star Kelly Monaco and her partner Alec Mazo. The duo was awarded the very first mirrorball trophy and epic season that ended with a showdown against ‘Seinfeld’ star John O’Hurley and Charlotte Jørgensen. Tom Bergeron has been the show’s host since it started in 2005. The judges have consisted of Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Len Goodman. They’ve been the judges since the very first season, with Len only sitting out in season 21. Season 28 will premiere Sept. 16 with a new round of celebs fighting to win the mirrorball trophy. ‘DWTS’ Season 2
Cheryl Burke and 98 Degrees singer Drew Lachey were crowned the winner of season 2. Drew returned for the All-Stars season and was paired with Anna Trebunskaya. They finished 11th.
‘DWTS’ Season 3
Former NFL star Emmitt Smith & Cheryl Burke were the season 3 winners. This marked Cheryl’s second win in a row.
‘DWTS’ Season 4
Apolo Anton Ohno and Julianne Hough won season 4 of ‘DWTS.’ It was Julianne’s very first win.
‘DWTS’ Season 5
Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough took home the mirrorball trophy in season 5. This was Julianne’s second win in a row.
‘DWTS’ Season 6
Mark Ballas and Olympic figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi won season 6. Jason Taylor and Edyta Śliwińska came in second place.
‘DWTS’ Season 7
Brooke Burke and Derek Hough hold their mirrorball trophy high after winning season 7. This was Derek’s first win as a pro.
‘DWTS’ Season 8
Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas won season 8. Shawn won ‘DWTS’ at the age of 17, making her the youngest champion at the time.
‘DWTS’ Season 9
Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson won season 9 of the series. Donny’s sister, Marie, competed in season 5.
‘DWTS’ Season 10
Derek Hough and Nicole Scherzinger were crowned the winners of season 10. This marked Derek’s second win as a pro.
‘DWTS’ Season 11
‘Dirty Dancing’ star Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough won season 11 of the show. Derek won the previous season with Nicole Scherzinger.
‘DWTS’ Season 12
Former NFL star Hines Ward took home the mirrorball trophy with Kym Johnson in season 12. Kym previously won with Donny Osmond.
‘DWTS’ Season 13
‘All My Children’ star and war veteran J.R. Martinez won season 13 with Karina Smirnoff. Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke came in second.
‘DWTS’ Season 14
Former NFL player Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd won season 14. Donald was the third NFL player to win ‘DWTS.’
‘DWTS’ Season 15
Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani won season 15, which was the All-Stars season. Melissa previously competed in season 8.
‘DWTS’ Season 16
Derek Hough and Kellie Pickler were the champions of season 16. They beat out Zendaya and Aly Raisman to win the mirrorball trophy.
‘DWTS’ Season 17
Derek Hough and Amber Riley won season 17. This marked Derek’s fifth win as a pro on the show.
‘DWTS’ Season 18
Olympic figure skater Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were the winners of season 18. They beat out Amy Purdy and Candace Cameron Bure.
‘DWTS’ Season 19
‘Fresh Prince Of Bel Air’ star Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson were the winners of season 19. Alfonso was the first male winner since season 14.
‘DWTS’ Season 20
Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy were crowned the champions of season 20. In honor of the show’s 10th anniversary, Rumor and Val received a special golden mirrorball trophy.
‘DWTS’ Season 21
Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough were the winners of season 21. Bindi was only 17 years old when she won. This also marked Derek’s sixth win.
‘DWTS’ Season 22
‘ANTM’ winner Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd were the season 22 champions. Nyle was the first deaf contestant to win the show.
‘DWTS’ Season 23
Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy were crowned the winners of season 23. Laurie became the youngest winner at 16 years old.
‘DWTS’ Season 24
NFL player Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater won season 24. They beat out former MLB catcher David Ross and singer Normani for the win.
‘DWTS’ Season 25
Lindsay Arnold and actor Jordan Fisher won season 25. This marked Lindsay’s first win as a pro.
‘DWTS’ Season 26
Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon and Jenna Johnson were the season 26 champions. This season consisted of only athletes.
‘DWTS’ Season 27
Sharna Burgess and radio host Bobby Bones were named the season 27 champions. Viewers were shocked when Bobby and Sharna beat out Disney Channel star Milo Manheim and ‘Harry Potter’ actress Evanna Lynch.
‘DWTS’ Season 28
‘The Bachelorette’ alum Hannah Brown and Alan Bersten won season season 28 of ‘DWTS.’ They beat actor Kel Mitchell and singer Ally Brooke.
‘DWTS’ Season 29
Kaitlyn Bristowe and partner Artem Chigvintsev won season 29 of ‘DWTS.’ Kaitlyn became the second-straight member of ‘Bachelor’ Nation to win the show.
‘DWTS’ Season 30
NBA star Iman Shumpert and partner Daniella Karagach won season 30 of ‘DWTS’. Iman beat YouTube star JoJo Siwa and Peloton instructor Cody Rigsby in the finals.
