Election Night 2016
The night of Nov. 8, 2016 was one of the most unforgettable in modern political history. The evening of the 2016 Election Night saw the final results between the tension-filled race for the White House come to a dramatic end. Hillary Clinton was the Demoncratic nominee, and, going into the evening, had a slew of polls projecting her to win.
However, everything changed when Republican nominee Donald Trump began to win key states, bringing his electoral college votes to a total higher than Clinton’s. By the time all votes were counted, Trump had a total of 304 electoral college votes, and Clinton had a total of 227. Clinton did, though, with the popular vote, garnering the support of 65,853,514 United States citizens compared to Donald Trump’s 62,984,828.
