Ellen Pompeo is best known for playing Meredith Grey, the lead on ABC’s hit ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, for 17 seasons and counting. Before joining ‘Grey’s’ in 2005, she starred in films like ‘Old School’ and ‘Catch Me If You Can’. She also had bit parts on ‘Law & Order’ and ‘Friends’. Ellen is also a director and producer. She has directed a number of ‘Grey’s’ episodes, and produces the show; she is also a co-executive producer on the spinoff ‘Station 19’. In 2018, Ellen became one of the highest-paid actors on TV after signing a $20 million contract with ABC. She had spoken out before that about salary equality in TV, and successfully negotiated the raise for her decade plus of hard work. Ellen married husband Chris Ivery in 2007 after they met in a grocery store in 2003. They have three children together, two daughters and a son.
