The rumor mill started churning at high speed after Playboi Carti posted an extremely cryptic tweet on November 23 — and fans immediately thought it was a pointed message to his ex-girlfriend, Iggy Azalea. And she initially did, too! The “Bounce” rapper, 30, attempted to set the record straight, though, when she realized that fans weren’t going to stop speculating.

“I just spoke to my sons father and apparently that isn’t meant to be about me. Apparently,” Iggy tweeted after seeing Carti tweet, “i told da bit shut up! My son crying”. Iggy and Carti just welcomed a son together, Onyx Carter, in June. One hour later, Iggy informed her Twitter followers that she had spoken to Carti directly, who told her that the message wasn’t about her. It’s unclear who it was about.

An hour after that, Iggy was clearly incensed that fans were still talking about the non-issue. She tweeted, “Y’all wrong as hell for your dumb ass Lil tweets. Why I gotta log on and see my name dragged in dirt over a random cryptic ass tweet, that hasn’t got sh*t to do with me! For WHAT!? I mind my business. I hope your Mac & cheese burns in the oven on Thursday. Night!”
Ouch. No need to drag Thanksgiving into this. “And yes, I’m pissed the f**k off. As I should be. As you would be,” she added, if it wasn’t clear enough. Iggy has called out Carti in cryptic messages herself, though. After the couple of two years split in October, Iggy seemingly slammed Carti in her Instagram Stories.
“You lost a real 1,” she wrote. “People take loyalty for granted & that’s why I’d rather be alone. One thing I’ll never understand is how liars live with themselves. That s*** don’t eat y’all up inside?” The following day she went back on Instagram and told fans, “What I mean last night was that I’m raising my son alone & I’m not in a relationship.”
