At the 2022 Independent Spirit Awards on Mar. 6, film and fashion were both on the menu. Some of Hollywood’s hottest stars, like Lily James, Sydney Sweeney, and Julia Fox, came together on the blue carpet to celebrate indie film.
At this year’s awards, Maggie Gyllenhal was the big winner, as her acclaimed feature ‘The Lost Daughter’ brought home Best Feature, Best Screenplay, and Best Director awards. The drama, which stars Olivia Colman and Dakota Johnson, follows a woman on a beach vacation who becomes strangely intertwined with another family.
The night was also one for the history books, with Troy Kotsur‘s Best Supporting Actor win for ‘Coda’ making him the first deaf actor to win a spirit award. Taylour Paige of ‘Zola’ and Simon Rex of ‘Red Rocket’ brought home the other major acting awards, for Best Actress and Actor, respectively.
Although the films in competition at this years’ awards were worth watching, all eyes were on the blue carpet, where stars showed off their personality and fashion sense in a variety of looks.
