‘Inventing Anna’ is a new Netflix show premiering on February 11. The story revolves around Anna Delvey, a young woman who took New York City by storm and became a socialite, only to be exposed as a fake German heiress. Anna’s story is very real, and she rose to fame after a ‘New York’ magazine article about her was released. Anna has since gone to prison and is now in ICE custody.
Julia Garner, of ‘Ozark’ fame, is playing Anna Delvey. The cast also includes Anna Chlumsky, Kate Burton, Laverne Cox, Arian Moayed, Alexis Floyd, Anders Holm, Jeff Perry, and more. Netflix actually paid Anna Delvey over $300,000 for the rights to her life story. The series is inspired by the 2018 article ‘How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People’ by Jessica Pressler.
