Dakota Johnson Breakup:’Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Star Splits With Matthew Hitt
Fifty Shades of Grey star, Dakota, and boyfriend Matthew have split according to Us Weekly.
“Sometime over the holidays, they broke up,” the insider tells Us. “Her life was getting too crazy and it wasn’t something that he wanted to be a part of.”
I guess we shouldn’t be surprised as Dakota reently told a reporter “I don’t have a boyfriend,” at the UK premiere of the film.
Dakota’s life certainly seems wild since being cast as Anastasia Steele opposite Jamie Dornan‘s Christian Grey in the film adaptation of E L James‘ erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey. Public interest in the film and it’s stars has been ravenous and it took home a whopping $85 Million on its first weekend after opening on Feb. 13.
Sounds like Matt didn’t care for everything that comes with dating one of the hottest stars in Hollywood at the moment.
Still the split is somewhat unexpected as the couple were together as of December and he was mentioned in her recent Vogue cover story.
The good news is that “It wasn’t a bad break,” and Dakota is already casually seeing a few people.
We are definitely happy about that!
Jamie Dornan Made Naked Scenes ‘Comfortable’ For Dakota Johnson
Fortunately for Dakota, who has had to make non stop appearances to promote ‘Fifty Shades of Grey,’ she has a supportive co-star in Jamie.
In an interview with The Today Show’s Matt Lauer, the stars were asked what it was like to film some of the difficult sex scenes and what they did when the director yelled “cut.”
Turns out, Jamie acted like a true gentleman always being “the first person to run over and cover” Dakota. Awww!
“Let’s be honest,” Jamie said. “It’d be pretty shocking if I was just like ‘hey.’ For Dakota, it’s a different thing. She was literally in those scenarios for real. She’s tied up, she’s exposed, she’s naked. Of course when we called cut, someone had to step in– I’m not just gonna leave her lying there.”
We’re glad Dakota has the support of friends during her split.
