Ivanka Trump, 37, debuted a brand new hairstyle in Bogota, Colombia on September 3, kicking off the promo tour for her Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative. The mother-of-three showed off a new, short blunt bob, about five inches shorter than her signature long locks – see the before and after photos below – as she spoke at the Academy of Women Entrepreneurs launch wearing a forest green ensemble. However, while Ivanka was away in South America, her father, Donald Trump’s administration, ordered the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to deport children in desperate need of medical care, back to their countries.

The news about President Trump’s plan drew outrage around the world. Hundreds and potentially a few thousand, severely sick kids and young adults who are legally in the country receiving life-saving treatment in America, could now be forced to return to their countries where they cannot receive the specialized medical treatments that they need.

In one specific case reported by The New York Times, a young woman named Maria Isabel Bueso, now 24, who first came to the U.S. from Guatemala at the age of seven because she had a very rare genetic disease, could be forced to leave. Doctors in the U.S. were conducting a clinical trial, which she was asked to participate in. The treatment was successful and is now used for other American citizens, however, without weekly infusions of a specific enzyme which is unavailable in Guatemala, Maria will die. Nevertheless, her family received a letter from the U.S. government in the mail last week threatening to deport her back to Guatemala if she failed to leave the country within 33 days.

While all of this is happening, Ivanka, whose children, Arabella, Joseph, and Theodore are aged, 8, 5, and 3, is showing off her new hairstyle and designer outfit, despite having characterized herself as an advocate for women and families.
