Since Charlize Theron, 40, became single in June, she and Jake Gyllenhaal, 34, have been two of Hollywood's most eligible and attractive single celebrities. Add in the fact that they're good friends, and suddenly, their friendship has become a little more than just that! A new report says Jake and Charlize are secretly dating!
About two months after Charlize called off her engagement to Sean Penn, she and Jake were spotted at a sushi restaurant in L.A. in late August. Their meetup sparked relationship rumors right away, as an eyewitness told OK! magazine that “their chemistry was obvious,” and “Jake was touching [Charlize’s] hand and smiling, making her laugh.”
Apparently their outing was a special one for Jake and Charlize. According to another OK! source, the longtime friends are finally getting to capitalize on feelings that have been there for quite some time! “There’s always been in attraction, but the timing was never right,” the insider revealed. “The romance is fresh, but they are having a blast so far.”

It seems the sushi date was just the beginning! Considering they’ve built their budding romance on a decade-long friendship, Charlize and Jake would make a great couple — and an extremely hot one to boot!
The source added that Jake is completely different from Sean in the best way imaginable. In comparison to Sean, the insider said Jake is “gentle, thoughtful, and kind.” Plus, he supposedly loves what a “strong, independent and straightforward” woman she is, which means Jake “never has to worry about drama with her.” Sounds like a perfect match to us! Although Jake’s rep has denied the report, we can only hope that the these two really do end up together.
