Judge Wapner Dead: ‘People’s Court’ Judge Passed Away At 97

This is so sad. Judge Wapner from 'People's Court' has passed away at the age of 97.

Joseph Wapner known as the judge on People’s Court has sadly passed away at the age of 97 on Sunday, Feb. 26, as reported by TMZ. The judge came to fame after the first airing of the People’s Court back in September 1981. It was the first reality show of its’ kind and spurred dozens more court shows over the years.

Saddest Deaths of 2017

Besides his television career, Judge Wapner served on the L.A. County Superior Court for over 20 years. He was taken to the hospital earlier this week after developing breathing problems. He was later taken back to his home where he passed away on Sunday. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Mickey, and their three children.
