Born in New York in 1933, Larry King is a legendary newsman who became a worldwide household name after joining CNN in 1985. Famed for his thick Brooklyn accent and suspenders, his show ‘Larry King Live’ was a go-to for celebs and politicians over the years. Married eight times, King has five children – sons Cannon, Chance, Andy and Larry King Jr., and daughter Chaia King. He left CNN in June 2010 but didn’t remain off the air for long. In 2012 he launched a new talk show, ‘Larry King Now.’ Over the years he has suffered a number of health complaints, including a heart attack in 1987 and Stage 1 lung cancer in 2017. In April 2019 King’s rep disputed reports that he had suffered another heart attack, instead saying that he had suffered angina and had heart surgery, not cardiac arrest. King has been married to his wife Shawn since 1997.
