‘Octomom’ Nadya Suleman attends an event with her 14 kids

On Jan. 26, 2009, Nadya became only the second woman ever to give birth to octuplets, which occured at a hospital in Bellflower, CA. It came with quite a bit of controvery, as it was later revealed that she already was a mother to six children, all conceived via IVF and that she was a single mom. Now she was a mother to a whopping 14 children, including eight infants. The Sulelman octuplets include six boys: Noah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Jonah, Josiah, and Makai, and two girls Maliyah and Nariyah. Despite the high risk of carrying that many babies, all of the children turned out to grow up healthy. Nadya shares photos on her Instagram account of her sons learning how to play instruments, including the violin and flute. She takes them on hikes, the kids have raced in 5K runs and attend school together. In 2019 she revealed that all eight children came from one single sperm donor, as her children’s races appeared different. Some of her children have dark hair and skin, while sons Josiah and Noah are fair skinned blondes. She explained in an Instagram post that the parental heritage came from a frozen German and Nicaraguan mix, and that she herself was mixed race, being of Arab/Palestinian, Afro/Palestinian and Lithuanian in heritage.

Nadya Suleman leaves Los Angeles County Superior Court after an arraignment in Los Angeles. Nadya pleaded not guilty to charges of failing to report $30,000 that authorities say she was earning when she applied for public assistance benefits. The 38-year-old single mother of 14 children was released on her own recognizance after her arraignment on three counts of welfare fraud.
