Chilli arrived at the Asian restaurant on Aug. 9 with her mother, Ava, where she requested a “relatively exclusive” table, according to People. The two sat down, and as scheduled, Nick arrived precisely 15 minutes later to make a VERY important first impression. They say mother knows best, so what if Ava didn’t like Nick? Could that be the end of their relationship? Luckily, Nick was able to charm his way into Ava’s heart.

“Nick was super engaged with Chilli and her mom and very animated,” a source confirms to People. “They were laughing and giggling and seemed to be telling lots of jokes.” Can’t say we’re surprised.
