‘Pennyworth’ is showing you a side of Alfred Pennyworth you’ve never seen before. The new series, which will consist of 10 episodes, premieres July 28 on Epix. ‘Pennyworth’ follows Bruce Wayne’s legendary butler, Alfred Pennyworth, a former British SAS soldier who forms a security company and goes to work with Thomas Wayne, Bruce’s billionaire father. Don’t expect to see Bruce Wayne at all in the series. ‘Pennyworth’ is set in 1960s London, long before Bruce was born. The show stars Jack Bannon as Alfred Pennyworth, Ben Aldridge as Thomas Wayne, Hainsley Lloyd Bennett as Bazza, Paloma Faith as Bet Sykes, Emma Corrin as Esme, Jason Flemyng as Lord Harwood, and Ryan Fletcher as Dave Boy. Emma Paetz has also been cast as Martha Kane, who eventually become Thomas’s wife. ‘Pennyworth’ is based on DC characters created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger.
