Nikolina Konstantinova Dobreva, better known to fans as Nina Dobrev, has been entrancing television audiences for years. Best known as Elena Gilbert on The Vampire Diaries, Nina’s first major acting role was that of Mia on Degrassi: The Next Generation, which she played for three seasons starting in 2006. During that early part of her career, she appeared in some television films including Never Cry Werewolf, The American Mall and two Lifetime original movies. In 2009, she landed the role of Elena, a role that would make her career. She played the character for six seasons, during which, she also appeared in movies like The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Final Girls and Let’s Be Cops. In April 2015, she announced that she would leave The Vampire Diaries, but she did return in 2017 for the supernatural program’s series finale. After TVD, Nina landed a role in XXX: Return of Xander Cage, and in the remake of the cult horror flick, Flatliners. In 2018, she returned to television as part of the CBS comedy, Fam. It premiered in January 2019 but was cancelled after one season.
