LYFE featured an exclusive performance from New York rapper Tekashi6ix9ine for the first time in the Middle East, and DJs Tony Vegas and DJ AIK, who mesmerised the crowds with their nu disco mixes and hip-hop performances. Due to high demands 6ix9ine agreed to perform a second night.
Tekashi is best known as a rapper and first came onto the scene showing off his own personal, which at times, included rainbow-colored hair and many tattoos. He is originally from Brooklyn, NY and released his debut single, ‘Gummo’ in late 2017. It went on to become a major hit and reached number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100.
After the success of ‘Gummo’ he released another hit called ‘Fefe’ which also featured high-profie rappers Nicki Minaj and Murda Beatz.
In addition to his music, Tekashi has been in the headlines for his outspokenness and legal issues. In 2015, he pled guilty to a felony count of use of a child in sexual performance and in 2018, he was arrested on racketeering, weapons, and drugs charges and pled guilty in 2019.
