Students gather during a vigil at Pine Trails Park for victims of the Wednesday shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, in Parkland, Florida. Student Nikolas Cruz went on a shooting rampage on February 14th, 2018 killing 14 students and three staff members. Filmmakers Emily Taguchi and Jake Lefferman’s new documentary, After Parkland, premiered at The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival which follows a small group of families and friends of the victims, through the funerals, visit to the White House to confront Donald Trump, through the growing student activism, the massive March For Our Lives in Washington, D.C. on March 24th, through the summer of 2018 March For Our Lives: Road to Change bus tour across the country to publicize the issue of gun violence in the US. Parkland families felt strongly about cooperating with the directors and to keep the victims memories alive and channel the tragedy into activism.
