To say racing is in his blood is an understatement, as the moment he was christened Dale Earnhardt Jr., it seemed as he was destined to become the biggest name in NASCAR. The grandson of driver Ralph Earnhardt and the son of the legendary Dale Earnhardt, Dale Jr. would follow in their footsteps (or, tire tracks?) by suiting up and getting behind the wheel. After winning consecutive NASCAR Bush Series championships in 1998 and 1999, Dale Jr. made his first start in the premier league, the then-Winston Cup, in 1998. He went full-time in the top-tier circuit in 2000, and never looked back. Though he wouldn’t claim the top-tier NASCAR championship by the time he retired in 2017, Dale Jr. racked up 26 wins, 260 top tens, and a long-line of accomplishments. He won the Daytona 500, considered THE biggest NASCAR race, in both 2004 and 2014. He was always a popular driver, and rarely was a discouraging word said about him (except by a few of his competitors who may have traded paint with him on the track.) On New Year’s Eve in 2015, right before the clock struck twelve, he and Amy Reimann tied the knot. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Isla Rose, in 2018.
