Redd is the hottest color. At least, many think that Trippie Redd is fire. The Canton, Ohio native – born Michael Lamar White IV on June 18, 1999 – broke out in 2017 with his debut mixtape, ‘A Love Letter to You.’ The lead single, ‘Love Scars,’ received more than 8 million views on YouTube within several months (and more than 13 million on SoundCloud.) Redd was also included on the late XXXTentacion’s album ’17,’ specifically on the song, ‘Fuck Love.’ Redd’s second mixtape, ‘A Love Letter To You 2,’ came out in October 2017. It debuted at #34 on the Billboard 200. His song “Dark Knight Dummo,” featuring Travis Scott, broke into the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 72. He would capitalize on this success by releasing his debut studio album, Life’s A Trip, in August 2018. It debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 Album chart, while the lead single, “Taking A Walk,” debuting at No. 49. His second album, simply titled !, was released in August 2019. It debuted at No. 3. He’d release his fifth mixtape, A Love Letter To You 4, a few months later.
