Did you win? If you didn’t, don’t lose hope completely. There’s still a chance you’ll win money if some of your numbers matched. However, if no one steps forward with a perfect match, then there will be another Powerball drawing. And guess what? More money will be involved! The amount of $40 million is just the starting point.

There were three winners in the Jan. 13 drawing of the $1.5 billion jackpot — from California, Tennessee and Florida. An Tennessee couple came forward as one of the winners and gave their first interview on the TODAY show on Jan. 15.

“We’re a little scared,” John Robinson said. “I didn’t know what to do. I knew I wanted to get an accountant and a lawyer and try to follow the procedures they tell you to follow.”

John and Lisa are taking the lump sum of their prize money, which rounds out at $983.5 million. They could have opted for 30 annual payments, but they said they’re “not guaranteed tomorrow.”

The winners from Florida and California have not come forward. A Florida teen reportedly won $2 million after playing in the Powerball for the first time. How lucky!
