Jennifer Lopez and Shakira attended a Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show press conference in Miami, Florida on Thursday, January 30, 2020. Both singers, who will co-headline the halftime show at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday, February 2, previewed their highly anticipated 12-minute set for the media. ‘It’s a lot of energy, it’s entertaining, there’s heartfelt moments. — We run the gamut,’ Jennifer said, admitting, ‘It’s very JLo and Shakira.’ JLo, who said the show is ‘packed with awesome moments,’ also noted that the energy inside the stadium has been exciting. Shakira added that while her show and JLo’s show are ‘very different,’ they’re ‘complimentary of each other.’ JLo and Shakira’s Halftime Show marks the first time two Latina women will co-headline the Super Bowl. The performance will also mark the first time JLo and Shakira will perform together on the same stage.

Shakira reveals how important the halftime show is for the Latino community
Shakira said she and JLo will be ‘celebrating life and celebrating diversity in this country,’ during their Super Bowl Halftime Show. ‘I think it’s a very important moment for the Latino community in this country,” she said, explaining that ‘the Super Bowl is a very American event, I think it will be very nice to see the heritage of this country and that’s what we will be celebrating on Sunday.’
JLo explains why the Super Bowl halftime show is meaningful for women
Jennifer went on to explain that the Super Bowl LIV halftime show is much bigger than the 12-minute performance she and Shakira will put on. She admitted that she hopes the show will inspire her daughter Emme, along with other Latina little girls and girls everywhere. She also expressed how amazing it is that both the 49ers and the chiefs are run by women.
