The show is tied with ‘Gunsmoke’ as the longest-running live-action TV series of all-time. ‘SVU’ was renewed for season 21, which will premiere in the fall of 2019, making the series the longest-running live-action TV series ever. Mariska Hargitay is at the head of ‘SVU’ as Olivia Benson, who is one of the most iconic characters in TV history. She’s been on the show since day one. She stars alongside Ice-T, Kelli Giddish, and Peter Scanavino. People have come and gone from the show, but Mariska has stayed and truly made the show the phenomenon it is today.
