‘Texicanas’ takes place in San Antonio, Texas. The series follows Penny Ayarzagoitia, Mayra Farret, Lorena Martinez, Anayancy Nolasco, Karla Ramirez, and Luz Ortiz, a stylish group of San Antonio sophisticates as they try to balance their social lives and the demands of raising a family. Their shared experience of facing the ongoing challenges of American culture, while still finding ways to honor their heritage and traditions, bonds these ladies with a connection that runs deeper than friendship. The show is told from the perspective of Penny Ayarzagoitia as she recounts the events ahead that lead to relationships unraveling and friends turning into foes. Penny was born in the U.S. but spent her youth in Mexico. She’s worked hard to build a successful real estate company with her husband Raul, and the two work as a team raising their two sons. ‘Texicanas’ airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on Bravo.
Mayra Farret Of ‘Texicanas’
Mayra was born in Mexico and moved to San Antonio with her husband, Fernando, nine years ago. She’s now a U.S. citizen, but she wasn’t when she initially moved here. Mayra is definitely the perfectionist of the group.
Lorena Martinez Of ‘Texicanas’
Lorena was born in a Texas border town but raised in Reynosa, Mexico. She married her husband, Ignacio, when she was 19. Her husband runs a construction company while she runs the family. Lorena is the social butterfly of the group.
Anayancy Nolasco Of ‘Texicanas’
Anayancy is the only one in the group who isn’t a U.S. citizen but she’s trying to change that. She moved to San Antonio for college and stayed after having her daughter, Ellie.
Luz Ortiz Of ‘Texicanas’
Luz was born in Arizona and grew up in Sonora, Mexico. She was married at 23 and had 3 children. The marriage didn’t work out so Luz and her husband divorced 6 years ago. She’s proud of the face that she’s rejected typical Mexican female norms. Now she’s raising her kids and is a successful real estate agent and entrepreneur.
Karla Ramirez Of ‘Texicanas’
‘Texicanas’ star Karla has been living in San Antonio for over 13 years. She’s married to entrepreneur, Manoli Zacharias. Together, they own several businesses including Hotel Discotheque. They have two sons.
