1 of 5The Aces
What’s better than kings and queens? The Aces. The alt-pop band — sisters Cristal and Alisa Ramirez (vocals/guitar and drums, respectively), McKenna Petty (bass), and Katie Henderson (lead guitar/vocals) – formed in the 2010s. First performing and recording music under a different moniker, the group changed their name to The Aces for ‘I Don’t Like Being Honest,’ an EP that launched their careers. The single, ‘Stuck,’ hit No. 38 on the ‘Billboard’ Alternative Songs Chart, announcing to the world that The Aces had arrived. The band continued to build a buzz for themselves by performing at SXSW, and opening for such alt-rock bands like Portugal. The Man. In 2018, the band released their debut album, ‘When My Heart Felt Volcanic,’ and made their late night debut by performing on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers.’ The band joined 5 Seconds of Summer on the latter’s ‘Meet You There’ World Tour, and shortly afterward, The Aces headlined their first-ever US and European tours, in support of ‘Volcanic.’ In 2020, the band released ‘Under My Influence,’ and while the COVID-19 pandemic prevented them from hitting the road, it didn’t slow their momentum in becoming one of the brightest new bands on the alt scene.
