‘The Midnight Sky’
‘The Midnight Sky’ is a new Netflix film directed by George Clooney. He also stars in the film as Augustine, a lonely and dying scientist who goes to great lengths to prevent a spaceship of astronauts from coming back to Earth after a catastrophic event. The spaceship consists of Sully (Felicity Jones), Commander Adewole (David Oyelowo), Sanchez (Demián Bichir), Mitchell (Kyle Chandler), and Maya (Tiffany Boone). Maya tragically dies in the film after being injured while working on the outside of the ship. Mitchell and Sanchez go back to Earth, while Sully and Adewole head towards the planet K-23 to start a new life there. The movie premiered Dec. 23 and is an adaptation of Lily Brooks-Dalton’s acclaimed novel ‘Good Morning, Midnight.’ This is the 7th film George has directed over the course of his career. Felicity Jones & David Oyelowo
Felicity Jones star as Sully and David Oyelowo as Commander Tom Adewole. Sully and Tom are a couple on the ship and expecting a child.
Tiffany Boone
Tiffany Boone stars as Maya, the youngest person on the spaceship. Maya succumbs to the fatal injuries she sustained on the spaceship.
Demián Bichir
Demián Bichir stars as Sanchez. He’s one of the astronauts on the ship and has a close friendship with Maya.
Kyle Chandler
Kyle Chandler stars as Mitchell. He yearns to be reunited with his family.
