Leighton Meester is back on the small screen, and we couldn’t be happier about it. The ‘Gossip Girl’ and ‘Single Parents’ alum stars in the new Netflix movie ‘The Weekend Away.’ Leighton plays Beth, who goes on a weekend getaway to Croatia with her best friend Kate, played by Christina Wolfe. After a wild night out, Kate ends up dead. With no memory about what happened, Beth winds up getting accused of Kate’s murder. Beth has to figure out what happened. Her efforts to get to the truth uncover a painful secret.
The movie is based on the bestselling book of the same name by Sarah Alderson. In addition to Leighton and Christina, the film also stars Ziad Bakri as Zain and Luke Norris as Rob. ‘The Weekend Away’ is set to premiere March 3 on Netflix.
