What could have possibly been more important to Tom than celebrating his daughter’s tenth birthday on April 18? Well, apparently Scientology, according to Scientologist expert and author, Tony Ortega. “If Tom was not famous, he would NOT be allowed to have any contact with Katie and Suri who would be considered a Potential Trouble Source, meaning that as long as she’s connected to her mom, she could present a problem,” Tony, who’s written about Scientology since 1995, revealed to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “She could hinder Tom’s spiritual growth in Scientology, which is by far the most important thing for a Scientologist. ”
Yikes! How sad that Tom would let his religion get in the way of spending time with his daughter and watching her grow up. We can only imagine how devastating this must be for Suri, we’re sure she misses her dad! But while Tony admitted that Suri and Tom’s ex, Katie Holmes, 37, are a potential threat to Tom’s Scientology practices, the author noted that celebrities do get to break the rules if they desire.
“The Number one rule of Scientology: celebrities get to break all the rules. For that reason, it’s very hard to say whether David Miscavige (the leader of the Church of Scientology) and Tom Cruise consider Katie officially an SP (Suppressive Person) and Suri, by extension, PTS (Potential Trouble Source),” Tony said.
However, if Tom was allowed to see Suri, wouldn’t he? “It’s hard not to conclude that Tom Cruise, for some reason, wants little to do with his ex-wife and his daughter. How much of that is Scientology, and how much is his personal decision is hard to know,” the author added. And we totally agree, there’s no way to really know how much influence Scientology has over Tom seeing his daughter, but either way, it definitely seems clear that Tom is not too keen on bonding with his fam.
Tony did however, offer another possible explanation as to why Tom is rarely seen with his little girl. “He is a die-hard Scientologist and part of the reason he is rarely seen with his daughter Suri may be because of his close relationship with David Miscavige,” the author said. “Tom may be influenced by David who would most likely frown upon his relationship with Suri. All Tom has to do is take Suri for ice cream and work the media. But for some reason we never see him with her.”
Tom and David believe that, after L. Ron Hubbard, they are the two most important people on the planet, according to Tony. Apparently the two truly believe they are saving the planet. And for those of you who may have forgotten, Tom was actually considering becoming a priest before he found Scientology. So clearly he has always been a seeker — Scientology just makes you believe that they have the right answers.
