Zooey Deschanel took to Instagram on Jan. 2 to celebrate the new year with a loving post about boyfriend Jonathan Scott and he replied with his own sweet message.
Zooey Deschanel, 40, started off her new year with a post about gratitude for the main man in her life. The actress shared two new cozy photos of her and her boyfriend Jonathan Scott, 42, hugging each other on Jan. 2 along with a doting caption about how much he means to her. “My 2020 MVP was this guy, who always made me feel happy in spite of a weird and uncertain year. Hoping 2021 is full of silver linings for everyone. ❤️, ” it read along with a photo credit tag of her dad, Caleb Deschanel.

In the post’s adorable photos, Zooey is wearing a pretty red knee-length dress with black tights and flat shoes while Jonathan looks attractive in a gray sweater over a red and blue plaid collared shirt, jeans, and brown boots. They are holding onto each other and sharing natural smiles while a decorated outdoor tree stands behind them.
About an hour after Zooey shared the post, Jonathan took to the comments section to reply. “You make me the happiest, best version of me 😊,” his swoon worthy response read. Other followers also shared positive words.
“You are so cute together!!!” one follower gushed while another wrote, “Awww love you two 💖.” A third exclaimed, “You are so lucky, girl!” and a fourth called them “beautiful together.”
On the same day Zooey posted the latest pics, Jonathan took to his own Instagram to post the same snapshots along with his own caption about lady love and the new year. “I’m dedicating this year to love, happiness and the pursuit of helping others. I feel like I’ve got a good jumpstart on the love part 🥰 what are your resolutions? #HappyNewYear,” it read.
Zooey and Jonathan’s cheerful posts to each other come over a year after they started dating. The lovebirds were first spotted together in Sept. 2019 and have shared numerous times together since then. They’ve often gushed over each other on social media, including one post that Zooey shared to celebrate the hunk’s 42nd birthday in Apr. It included a black and white photo of her kissing him on the cheek and a sentimental caption.
“This amazing person makes me truly happy every single day and fills my life with love and joy,” it read. “Happy birthday @mrsilverscott! You are one of a kind wonderful. So happy I get to make your birthday cake.”
